Part-time Hotel Receptionist

Part-time Receptionist for a busy, family-run traditional hotel and restaurant in the heart of Lutterworth, South Leicestershire. Must be able to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. Reception opening times are 6.30am to 8pm.
This is an important role in delivering the level of customer service our guests have come to expect. As such, we are looking for an experienced Receptionist who can ensure we maintain and build on our high standards.
Your main duties will include:
- Answering the telephone
- Processing online hotel reservations
- Taking hotel reservations and restaurant bookings over the phone and by email
- Maintaining the hotel’s room listings on various Online Travel Agents (OTAs)
- Processing hotel bookings using the in-house reservation system
- Taking and handling payments
- Guest check-ins and check-outs
- General hotel administration and customer service
- Keeping the reception area clean and tidy
You will have experience working in a similar customer-facing role or customer service environment. You will require good spoken and written English and a flexible and positive attitude to work. Although training specific to the role will be provided, it would be advantageous to have the following experience:
- Administration skills including being proficient in the use of Outlook email and Microsoft programmes including Word and Excel.
- Experience in using hotel reservation booking systems
- Experience in working with OTAs
- Good and accurate typing skills
The Greyhound Hotel is a family-run hotel and restaurant, and we have been serving the local community for nearly 30 years. We pride ourselves on the level of customer service and friendliness we provide to our loyal customers. We are a small team that supports one another to ensure we deliver a first-class customer experience. From time to time, therefore, you will be required to help on the bar and in the restaurant, for example, when staff are on their breaks.
Shifts:
- Monday – Friday 6.30am – 3.00pm or 3.00pm – 8.00pm
- Saturday – 6.30am – 3.00pm
- Sunday - 6.30am – 12.00pm
Shifts are worked on a rota basis to ensure Reception is covered at the above times and are subject to change, including working a longer shift when the hotel is especially busy.
You need to have a flexible approach to your shifts and be prepared to work between the hours stated above, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
